This week is the first week of October, and each October the NFL highlights Breast Cancer Awareness. For four weeks players and coaches will have pink mingled into their uniforms, on their caps, ribbons on their chests, even in the Madden series of computer games you will find pink everywhere for October games. Everything is bigger in the US, the AFL gives Breast Cancer Awareness 1 week of 23, the NFL gives it 4 weeks of 17.
Illuminators (121) v Forces (116)
Two hot teams, the Lighties lost to Agent P last week but still posted a very respectable score. The Forces are sitting at 3-1 and mostly dominating their games. The weak spot for the Forces is their Quarterback. Kaepernick came into the season with high expectations but has been a huge disappointment, both for 49ers fans and Fantasy coaches. The Forces backup quarterback has just been de-listed by the Buccaneers so Freeman is ripe for the de-listing in Fantasy too.
Endless (108) v Wooli (91)
Wooli is in a 3-game losing streak, Endless in a 2-game losing streak. One team will arrest that this week. Both teams have strong on-paper matchups - this game could be the week's most exciting game and should come down to the wire.
Farnsworths (101) v Agent P (113)
The Heart-breaker versus the League Leader. Agent P continues to hammer the Waiver wire and free agency, refusing to rest on her laurels. Her motto: 'a player is only as good as their projection, past performance be damned'. Can that attitude take her all the way? Is their a place for loyalty in the modern game? With the seeming unstoppable 37 year old Peyton Manning in charge (16 TDs, 0 Interceptions) the Farnsworths lineup is primed to humble the Secret Agent.
Breesus (99) v Maidens (82)
The Pharisees and Sadducees conspired together last week and the King of the Drews pulled off a great victory over the Doof's, delaying the requisite assassination. The Maidens, too, had a good win over Endless. Both teams will need their A-game this week. The Maidens will need to make sure they have a complete line-up and manage their players on the bye week (hint, hint). Breesus will be hoping for a solid performance from his players coming off the bye.
Doof (127) v Zim (106)
Intra-house competition, our home is a battle-ground. Landmines have been deployed, rooms have been divided into two, russian nuclear subs have been purchased, sarin gas has been procured from shifty Syrian arms dealers [tautology]. The stage is set for ZIM v DOOF. Both teams looked to free agency to boost their stocks this week. Zim started the season well and has since dropped a couple. Doof has struggled to get it together at all. Dinner Tuesday may be tense.
Other news:
The coach of Endlessnessism was in the market for players this morning and decided to look at the talent coming up from the college system. The video she found for the East/West game provided a rundown on the up and coming players. I'm really exited about T'Variusness King, Tyroil Smoochiee-Wallace, Javarious Jamar Javarison-Lamar and J'Dinkalage Morgoone. Who's your favourite college player?
